Celebrate the Arts and Community with Community Secret Garden Painting Day at Tivoli Village in Las Vegas
Guests of all ages are invited to join visiting artist, Geoffrey Gersten, for a festive day at Tivoli Village that marries the arts with community while giving back to Las Vegas charity, Create A Change Now

With a $2 donation to Create A Change Now, guests at the Feb. 24 Community Painting Day will receive a paintbrush, palette, and the opportunity to leave their mark on Tivoli Village via a whimsical secret garden painting installation led by Gersten. Embracing the day’s theme of community, more than 100 vendors and purveyors of locally sourced produce and gourmet bites, as well as hand-crafted goods and specialty items will line the streets of Tivoli Village in addition to children’s activities including bounce houses, games, and face painting.

“By bringing local farmers and artisans together it allows guests to shop from their neighbors while also supporting the overall mission of Create A Change Now, which uses edible education to introduce area children to a positive and healthy relationship with food,” said Kimberly Esparza, Assistant General Manager and Marketing Director for Tivoli Village. “The day is truly focused on serving our community and the art installation will give children and grandparents alike the opportunity to work together to lend their talents to a beautiful exhibit that will be created by the community, for the community, and 100 percent of the proceeds from which will go back into the community.”

The Community Painting Day will run from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in Tivoli Village’s new park area, located along the north end of the property just past The Shade Store. The Farmers & Makers Market runs from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. throughout the village. The event is free to attend.

About Geoffrey Gersten

Geoffrey Gersten

Artist Geoffrey Gersten

Emerging from a traditional painting background, Geoffrey Gersten is a whimsical painter driven by classical beauty. Dropping out of an early career as a CAD designer, he fell into pursuit of a deep, intrinsic calling to create something meaningful. Self-taught since 2010, he settled into oil painting and an impassioned study of art history. These perennial inspirations coupled with a modernized palette have shaped a unique approach to forming a link between subculture art styles and the finer world of classical art history and exceptional technique.

Gem-like glazed surfaces belie the artist’s intent to convey the nuanced complexities of the human soul in context to the modern world around us and beauty of our natural earth which we are privileged to enjoy. Enriched by the delicacy of flora and fauna, a tableau of characters, pop-culture motifs alongside wide-eyed animals and robots inhabit their own tranquil universe. Gersten’s paintings relay a sense of mystery, while allowing a reflective viewer to identify their own heart, invoking ephemeral emotions that we experience universally.

Geoffrey Gersten is an internationally represented artist. In addition to opening Gersten Fine Art in his home of Scottsdale, Arizona, his work is also seen in galleries and exhibitions spanning the United Stages with additional solo exhibitions in Taiwan and Madrid.
