Celebrity Magician Murray SawChuck Tours UMC Trauma Center in Las Vegas

Celebrity Magician and Tropicana headliner Murray SawChuck was invited to take a tour of one of Nevada’s highest ranking trauma facilities, the UMC Trauma Center on Nov. 6, 2013 (Danita Cohen, Murray SawChuck and Lawrence Barnard). 

Murray met with Danita Cohen, Director of Strategic Development, and Lawrence Barnard, Chief Operating Officer, who officially invited him down after meeting Murray at the Neon Boneyard’s One-Year Anniversary that Murray was hosting.

Murray said, “It’s amazing to have the opportunity to tour a facility like this as usually the ONLY time you get to see a place like this is when you can’t enjoy it and are praying everyone there can save your life. It’s a much different experience when you can come in and really appreciate how talented the staff, facility and the equipment is. After touring the facility I really feel a sense of comfort knowing that if I am ever brought there I would really be in the best of care EVER! They have this wall of HOPE where they showcase patients that weren’t suppose to make it because of how severe their injuries were, but they ALL are alive now because of the UMC Trauma Unit. Very inspiring!”

After touring the facility and how impressed Murray was, he has now offered all 4000 employees of UMC two free tickets to his show anytime in November.  Murray wants to get the charity he represents, Friends For Life,  to bring 4 or 5 of their friendliest puppies with him to tour the facility to bring a few smiles to every ones faces.  And Murray now has an on Christmas Day to pop into the hospital for an hour visit to see all the patients.

“I hope when I arrive on Christmas Day that there isn’t ONE patient in here,” explained Murray, “but either way I’m going to have a visit!”
