Country music favorite Chris Cagel, rising star Chris Janson, and the popular local Tony Marques Band will headline the seventh Country in the Park outdoor concert and festival on Saturday, May 11.

Presented by the best-selling Mountain’s Edge master plan and Vegas Country 95.5 KWNR, the free event is 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the amphitheater in the community’s Exploration Park, located at 9275 So. Buffalo Drive.

“We’ve got another stellar line-up for Country in the Park with Chris Cagel, Chris Janson and the Tony Marques Band. They are all such great performers in addition to their wonderful music,” said Jason Thompson, community development manager for Focus Property Group, developer of Mountain’s Edge. “And the beautiful mountain backdrop at our Exploration Park amphitheater provides the perfect setting for an outdoor event for all ages. We’re please to host this free concert for Mountain’s Edge residents and the entire community, along with our partner Vegas Country 95.5 KWNR.”

The Tony Marques Band opens the show from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., followed by Janson from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., and culminating with Cagel from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Additionally, the event features a beer garden, booths and exhibits, and food vendors including Smokin’ Sam’s, Papa John’s, Firehouse Subs, Chilled Out Shaved Ice and Funnel Cake Café.

The 80-acre park offers an Old West village and Native American play structures, archeological dig area, splash pad, picnic areas, and the 2,846-foot-tall Exploration Peak with hiking and cycling trails and panoramic views.

Cagle’s self-proclaimed version of “redneck rock ‘n roll” has been firing up people for more than a decade. He’ll bring this same energy to Country in the Park. He has two gold albums, two No. 1 albums and 12 charted songs, earning him critical and commercial success.  From his first No. 1 smash, “I Breathe In, I Breathe Out,” to his current album Back In The Saddle with 11 new tracks and hit single, “Got My Country On,” Cagle continues attracting legions of fans, including industry heavyweights and country music fans alike. The album’s newest single, “Dance Baby Dance,” now on the radio, is sure to add more.

An accomplished singer/songwriter, dynamic multi-instrumentalist, and compelling vocalist, Janson is an entertainer on the rise. He is already being recognized for these achievements and his high-energy performances and natural ability to captivate audiences after only a few years in the business. Janson’s recently released single, “Better I Don’t,” is garnering nationwide buzz from media and fans, and will be featured on his debut full-length album, expected later this year. Among his songwriting efforts, he co-wrote Tim McGraw’s fastest rising single, “Truck Yeah”.

A favorite at all the past Country in the Park concerts, Marques will be joined by new musicians this year. Since debuting in February, this rousing, crowd-interactive band is making a lot of people smile and drawing packed houses at their monthly gig at Toby Keith’s “I Love This Bar and Grill” at Harrah’s Hotel and Casino and Margaritaville Restaurant and Bar at the Flamingo Hotel.Marques has performed at Las Vegas’ NFR, PBR and NASCAR events, and opened for Jason Aldean, Cagle, Charlie Daniels and countless others.
