CineVegas Green Film Series at The Springs Preserve Culminates with “Dirt! The Movie”

The CineVegas Green Film Series at the Springs Preserve draws to a close on Saturday, March 7 with the Las Vegas premiere of the documentary DIRT! THE MOVIE, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this past January. The film will screen at 7:30pm in the Big Springs Theater, followed by a Q&A session with one of the film’s directors, Gene Rosow.

From directors Bill Benenson and Gene Rosow, DIRT! THE MOVIE is an insightful and timely story of the glorious and unappreciated material beneath our feet. One teaspoon of dirt contains a billion organisms working in remarkable balance to maintain and sustain a series of complex, thriving communities that impact our daily lives. Inspired by William Bryant Logan’s acclaimed book “Dirt: The Ecstatic Skin of the Earth,” the film takes a humorous and substantial look into the history and current state of the living organic matter that we come from and to which we will ultimately return. An eclectic group of participants ranging from biologists to prisoners incarcerated on Rikers Island offer answers to problems and inspire us to clean up the mess that we’ve created.

General admission tickets are $10 each, and the “Food and a Flick” package is also available for $25 per person, including a pre-movie dinner at the Springs Preserve Café by Wolfgang Puck. Dinner seatings will be held at 5 pm, 5:30 pm, 6 pm and 6:30 pm. Concessions will be available for purchase inside the theater, outside food and beverages are not permitted. Tickets can be purchased at the Springs Preserve box office or by calling (702) 822-7705. For more information, log-on to www.cinevegas.com/green.
