Communities In Schools of Nevada Raises $8,000 at Annual Santa Tea Benefit
On Saturday, December 10, Communities In Schools of Nevada (CISN) hosted its annual Santa Tea at Simon Restaurant & Lounge at Palms Place. More than 140 adults and children came out to support the organization raising more than $8,000 at the family affair (Photo credit: Keith Clark Image Artistry).

Young ones participated in favorite seasonal activities such as decorating oversized gingerbread cookies, playing festive games and taking pictures with Santa Claus. Adults weren’t neglected from the holiday festivities as they were treated to specialty spritzers while mingling with family and friends.

Executive Chef Kerry Simon was in attendance dishing out some of his famous small plates for little ones including mini burgers, mac & cheese croquettes, and Nutella and banana croissants. Adults were not left out as they were treated to delights such as California rolls, crispy sesame rice tuna, oven roasted turkey breast sandwiches and margherita pizza. Tantalizing desserts were placed around the venues including the renowned holiday junk food platter filled with beloved cookies, cupcakes, fudge and decorative rice crispy treats as well as a variety of flavored scones and candy nibbles.

The family benefit was attended by some of Las Vegas most generous including CISN Board President Susie Lee, Larry Fink, Michael Shulman, Amy Rossetti, LeeAnn Inadomi, Cynthia Mun, Elizabeth Blau, Joanna Falb, Gina Schonfeld and Wendy Wallington. With the support of these locals and other giving families, CISN is able to continue its mission surrounding at-risk children with a community of support to empower them to stay in school and achieve in life.
