Debbie Gibson to Mentor Young Talent in Las Vegas
Recording Artist, Broadway Star and Las Vegas Resident Debbie Gibson is hosting her first-ever performance workshop on June 16 for performers, ages 9 to 19, interested in both Pop and Broadway music. 

A limited number of young performers will be chosen for “Debbie Gibson’s Electric Youth Performance Workshop.” Submit a video audition to by June 10.

“I am so excited to mentor the stars of tomorrow,” said Debbie Gibson. “I wrote ‘Lost In Your Eyes’ when I was about 15 years old, so I really know what it takes to be a young performer and to have that creative inspiration and that artists soul.”

During the four-hour workshop, participants will work one on one with Gibson to learn to get to the emotional heart of a song. They will hone their live performance skills so they feel both grounded and confident enough to hold a crowd in an electrifying way. There will also be general admission for those who want to watch and learn, take notes and ask questions. Space is limited. A portion of all ticket proceeds will go to The Animal Foundation.

Gibson has successfully crossed over into all aspects of entertainment with a career spanning more than three decades in all aspects of show business, including Broadway (Les Miserables, Cabaret, Beauty and the Beast), London’s West End (Grease), National Theater Tours (Joseph, Cinderella, Chicago and more), No. 1 Multi-Platinum Albums, Worldwide Tours, composing and producing for herself as well as other artists.

She is still the youngest female in history to write and produce a No. 1 hit single “Foolish Beat” as documented by Billboard Magazine and The Guinness Book of World Records. Her passion to foster and mentor young performers led Gibson to create “Debbie Gibson’s Electric Youth” in July 2008. “Electric Youth” is a phrase that turned from a hit album and tour into a calling and a movement to empower young people through musical creativity. The series of recording and performance workshops, songwriting and recording intensives, and performing arts camps provide young people who are serious about embarking on a career in entertainment with arts education in a nurturing, creative, disciplined, and fun atmosphere.
