Don’t Miss the Highlight of the Dance Season!
Nevada Ballet Theatre is thrilled to present American Masters, featuring guest principal dancers from the famed New York City Ballet: Wendy Whelan, Albert Evans and Sébastien Marcovici, who will perform Liturgy and After the Rain, two powerful and moving works by choreographic sensation Christopher Wheeldon.
In addition, audiences will be treated to two Las Vegas premieres by newly appointed Artistic Director, James Canfield. Up, set to seven different versions of Richard Rodgers’ famous ballad, “Blue Moon,” will captivate you with its soulful movements.
And you won’t want to miss Neon Glass Pas de Deux, a collaboration with glass sculptor Dale Chihuly and composer Philip Glass that The New York Times once declared “choreographically fascinating.”
The program culminates with a reprise of Val Caniparoli’s Lambarena, a brilliant fusion of African song and rhythm with classical ballet and the music of Bach. This powerful program will be presented on Friday, April 10 at 8 pm and Saturday, April 11 at 2 pm at UNLV’s Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway.
