Donation Opens Two Henderson Parks to Residents of All Abilities
The City of Henderson’s list of parks-for-all – parks that offer adaptive play equipment – continues to grow as playgrounds at Hayley Hendricks Park and Saguaro Park have each been fitted with a Sway Fun Glider and ramp so children of all abilities can play together.
The Sway Fun Glider from Landscape Structures is the first wheelchair-accessible glider that meets all safety standards. Riders rock back and forth as quickly or as slowly as they desire.

The city received an $80,000 contribution from the Leonard family for the purchase and installation of adaptive playground equipment. The donation was made on behalf of a family member with special needs.
The dedication ceremony, which is open to the public, begins at 8p.m. on Thursday, July 12, at Hayley Hendricks Park, 811 Ithaca Ave. (near N. Pueblo Boulevard). Councilmember Gerri Schroder will be in attendance. During the ceremony, the City of Henderson will recognize and thank the Leonard family and friends who, through their generosity and support, have made it possible for children of different abilities to play together at Hayley Hendricks and Saguaro parks.
Other City of Henderson parks with play-for-all playgrounds are Paseo Vista Park, Madeira Canyon Park and Amador Vista Park all have adaptive seat swings.
