Epicurean Charitable Foundation Raises Almost $800,000 for Scholarship Program

The Epicurean Charitable Foundation Las Vegas (ECFLV) hosted their 9th Annual Scholarship Fundraising Gala Friday, Oct. 8, poolside at the M Resort Spa Casino. Together with generous sponsors and community supporters, the Epicurean Charitable Foundation raised nearly $800,000 for its scholarship program.

“We are extremely grateful for the community’s support for the Epicurean Charitable Foundation and its mission, especially during these times of economic hardship. Without the generous contributions of many, we would be unable to fulfill the dreams of talented and deserving students who will one day serve as the future leaders of the hospitality industry which fuels our city,” said Christina Clifton, Epicurean Charitable Foundation chairwoman.

The gala was entitled “M.E.N.U.S- Mentoring and Educating Nevada’s Upcoming Students” and featured 38 of the city’s best restaurants as well as fine wines and specialty cocktails. The evening was culminated with a private concert by Grammy-award-winning rock band, Train. Tony Marnell was honored for his excellence in and dedication to the Las Vegas hospitality industry as well as his commitment to educating and cultivating local youth.

The Epicurean Charitable Foundation’s scholarship program supports Las Vegas area students in their pursuit of a career in the hospitality field. To date, ECFLV has supported more than 40 students including the ten scholarship recipients that were awarded earlier this year. Each of the recipients receives mentorship and guidance from within the Foundation’s ranks and well as scholarship monies. The scholarship includes coverage of all academic expenses if the student decides to attend UNLV, and up to $48,000 should they attend any other accredited institution of higher learning.
