Epicurean Charitable Foundation to Host Second Annual Strikes for Scholarships Bowling Fundraiser

(ECF) will host the 2nd annual Strikes for Scholarships bowling tournament fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15, at South Point Hotel Casino & Spa (Pictured: ECF Students and Board Members at Strikes for Scholarships 2014).

“Strikes for Scholarships provides a fun and casual way for the Las Vegas community to get to know our students and board of directors,” said ECF Executive Director Melissa Arias. “We’re especially proud because our students plan the fundraiser themselves. We’re giving them the freedom and opportunity to benefit their peers by taking control of the event from start to finish.”

Registration is priced at $35 for individuals and $125 for teams of five. Participants may sign up to bowl individually, as a team or bid to play with one of the notable participating celebrities. Beverage specials for the event will include $1 bloody marys and mimosas.

“I am honored and excited to host Strikes for Scholarships again here at South Point,” said Michael Kennedy, ECF chairman and director of food operations for South Point. “Last year we raised more than $4,000 that directly benefited our new scholarship recipients.”

Proceeds from the bowling tournament will support ECF’s primary charitable endeavor of awarding annual scholarship awards to deserving high school students seeking careers in the hospitality and food and beverage industries. Tickets and sponsorship information is available by visiting www.ecflv.org or by calling 702-932-5098.

Comprised of 25 of Las Vegas’ top food and beverage and hospitality executives, Epicurean Charitable Foundation of Las Vegas is dedicated to ensuring scholarships and unique mentorship opportunities to financially-underprivileged Clark County students passionate about pursuing a career in a related field. To support the mission, ECF holds a grand annual fundraiser, known as M.E.N.U.S. (Mentoring and Educating Nevada’s Upcoming Students), featuring an exclusive dine-around, live entertainment and elaborate amenities.
