The Arts Factory in the downtown arts district was transformed into a chic flea market to show off the fashion finds, upscale food and drink, and performers enjoyed by patrons of every age. Most of the philanthropy-meets-fashion event was held outdoors, with an inside gallery featuring the stylish clothes that Couture for Causes has become known for over the years. Starting at noon, fashionistas scoured the grounds in hopes of being the first to find the best discounted pieces.

Clothes, shoes, and jewelry made the biggest splash with patrons. From designer items discounted up to 85 percent to blinged baubles at a mere $5, there truly was a unique fashion find for everyone on any budget. A lucky teenager found the dress she saw on a news segment earlier in the week, a black mini dress with gold detailing, that after searching the racks and dressing rooms she finally purchased. One giddy guest even tweeted a photo of a yellow pair of gently used Christian Louboutin shoes entitled, “Yes! That’s right – Christian Louboutin shoes on sale at Couture for Causes hosted by CIS Nevada.”

Sponsors filled the grounds with only the best food fare. Wynn Las Vegas provided a full spread of savory food including miniature cheeseburgers, ka-bobs, and the crowd favorite mac & cheese bites. Sweet-toothed guests were impressed with the wide array of sugary treats from Sugar Factory, Jean-Marie Auboine Chocolatier, endless miniature cupcakes from Simple Elegance custom cakes, multi-flavored popcorn from Popped, and snow cones from Italian Ice King.

Performers entertained the masses with dances from the Nevada Ballet Theatre and Culture Shock, singing from Sabriel and Josh Bledsoe, a seven-piece band performance from HaleAmanO, and live paintings from Anya Peterson. Local DJs also played between the cocktail stations to provide an upbeat shopping experience.

Specialty drinks were provided by The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and The Downtown Cocktail Room. “The Indian Flea Market,” the event’s signature drink made by The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, was a huge hit among the thirsty shoppers. There was no shortage of water on the scorching day thanks to Smart Water who provided ice-cold water bottles for everyone on the premises.

At the end of the day, moms picked up their little ones at the Nannies and Housekeepers tent, which provided kid-friendly snacks and juice boxes for all the children in attendance while they played games and created arts and crafts.
