The Center for Autism & Developmental Disabilities at Touro University Nevada is teaming up with former NBA player Jerome “Junkyard Dog” Williams once again to host a free basketball clinic for local children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities.

Many children with developmental disabilities have never had the opportunity to participate in team sports so this free clinic provides a safe and fun environment for them to learn educational tools like teamwork while developing core basketball skills.

Split into two sessions during the day, Williams and his team will work alongside Touro University Nevada student volunteers, and clinicians to teach attendees a variety of basketball drills, tactics and teamwork fundamentals. All children participating in the clinic will receive lunch, a t-shirt, mini basketball and a backpack filled with healthy snacks and other items.

The Touro Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities opened in 2008 as a state-of-the-art facility designed with the special needs of children with developmental disabilities in mind. The facility offers multiple evidence-based therapy services for children 18 months to 12 years; as well as diagnostic neuropsychological evaluations for children 18 months to 17 years.
