Free Gardening Workshops at Acacia Demonstration Gardens

Free Gardening Workshops at Acacia Demonstration Gardens
The City of Henderson
is hosting a series of five gardening workshops from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturdays from now to April 18 at Acacia Demonstration Gardens, located at 50 Casa del Fuego St.

There is no cost to attend but advance registration is recommended.

The workshops are led by a Cooperative Extension Master Gardener and cover topics such as getting started as a desert gardener, fruits and vegetables, native landscape design, gardening with physical limitations, and growing trees.

The Acacia Demonstration Gardens serves as a showcase of plants, trees and flowers that will succeed in the desert environment and our own backyards. The Gardens opened in late 2004 and continue to grow and evolve with the seasons. By taking advantage of the learning opportunities the Gardens provide, visitors can choose a proactive approach to water conservation.

Participants can register online or in person at any City of Henderson recreation center. For additional information, call Outdoor Recreation at 702-267-4050 or visit cityofhenderson.com.
