The legendary downtown Las Vegas entertainment venue will transform into summer’s alternative destination through Labor Day weekend with a free concert series that showcases a stellar lineup of bands that take music to the edge.

Everclear
Founded in Portland, Ore. in 1992, Everclear independently released their debut album World of Noise. The band’s relentless touring regimen and D.I.Y. promotional tactics helped set to set the stage for the platinum-level breakthrough of 1995’s Sparkle and Fade, which spawned the hits “Santa Monica” and “Heroin Girl.” The band’s ascendancy continued with 1997’s So Much for the Afterglow, which produced the radio hits “Everything to Everyone,” “I Will Buy You A New Life,” and “Father of Mine.” In 2012 Everclear released their newest album “Invisible Stars” featuring new songs that embody the same qualities of punch, sturdy songcraft and edgy introspection that have long endeared Everclear to its large and loyal worldwide fan base.

Live
Live burst onto the burgeoning alternative scene in 1991, but it was their sophomore album Throwing Copper that solidified their status as bonafide superstars. The album featured hit songs “Lightning Crashes,” “All Over You,” and “I Alone.” The album reached #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and surpassed sales of 10 million in merely two years. Rolling Stone and MTV both dubbed the album “One of the 25 Greatest Rock Albums of All-Time”, while tastemakers from Spin to The New York Times lauded it with equal praise. Upon release, its 1997 follow-up Secret Samadhi immediately shot to #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and eventually went six-times platinum. However, on The Distance to Here in 1999, Live turned into an international powerhouse and jumped from arenas into stadiums all over the globe driven by the smash “The Dolphin’s Cry”.  V and Birds of Pray followed, continuing to expand their legacy and satiate the rabid and faithful fan base that they had amassed over nearly two decades. Live’s music remains a pillar of the nineties both musically and culturally. The band infused heartfelt melodies with raw energy for an inimitable style that stood out from the early nineties pack.

Filter
Shoving a fist in the face of tradition has been Filter’s modus operandi since the release of their self-produced debut album, Short Bus. The album’s rough-around-the-edges production brought the group’s first hit single “Hey Man, Nice Shot” which peaked at #10 on Billboards Modern Rock Tracks. Their second album, Title of Record, featured hit song “Take a Picture” which has been featured in numerous motion pictures including The Girl Next DoorSaving GraceLittle Nicky and Pay it Forward. Filter’s sixth album, The Sun Comes Out will be released on June 4, 2013.

Sponge
Sponge has proven to be one of the Motor City’s heaviest hitters after gaining international notoriety with their debut album Rotting Piñata. Emerging from Detroit with hits like “Plowed” and “Molly (16 Candles)” Sponge received massive airplay on radio stations from coast to coast and were in heavy rotation on MTV. Both “Plowed” and “Molly” hit #5 on Billboard’s Modern Rock Charts, catapulting “Rotting Piñata” to Gold, and ultimately Platinum status. Sponge’s follow up CD, the critically lauded “Wax Ecstatic” (Columbia) scored additional top ten Billboard hits including “Wax Ecstatic” and “Have You Seen Mary?”  The band’s music was also featured in popular movies The CraftChasing AmyMall Rats and Empire Records. Having shared stages the world over with Guns N’ Roses, Nickelback, Iggy Pop, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Kiss, to name just a few, Sponge continues to be one of rock’s most sought after live acts.  Front man Vinnie Dombroski captivates audiences with his powerful voice, heart-on-his-sleeve lyrics and high-octane stage presence. In May of 2013 Sponge will release a highly anticipated new album Stop the Bleeding.
