Galleria at Sunset Celebrates Back in the Swing Retail Therapy Week Oct. 11-17

Shoppers at the Galleria at Sunset – located at 1300 W. Sunset Road in Henderson – can shop for a cause during Back in the Swing Retail Therapy Week Oct. 11-17 to raise awareness of post-treatment care for breast cancer survivors. The annual fundraising event began in Kansas City in 2003 and has expanded to shopping centers and districts nationwide.

To participate, shoppers buy a Back in the Swing shopping card for $5 (a donation to the Back in the Swing non-profit organization) and can load the card with any amount between $5-$500. The gift cards are available at the Galleria at Sunset’s Guest Services booth, and shoppers will enjoy discounts at participating stores and restaurants throughout the week. Cards are available through Oct. 17. The price of the card is a donation that helps provide breast cancer survivors with life-long, post-treatment medical care. This year, more than 80 shopping centers and districts nationwide will sell a special Back in the Swing gift card.

“As the community’s mall, the Galleria at Sunset is a perfect fit to serve as the Southern Nevada host of this event,” said Heather Valera, marketing director for the Galleria at Sunset. “We are looking forward to taking part in this worthy cause.”

Participating stores include Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, Bath and Body Works, Build-a-Bear Workshop, Chevy’s Fresh Mex, Forever 21, Fred Meyer Jewelers, Front Row Sports, Great American Cookies, Kyklos Greek Café, LoveSac, Payless Shoe Source, Regis Salons, Trade Secret, The Body Shop, The Kitchen Sink and The Picture People.

In the first seven years, more than $2.5 million was raised to support national and local movements. Proceeds have gone to support media campaigns, translational materials, consumer events, collaborative breast cancer survivorship research, oncology nurse training programs and more throughout the United States.

Back in the Swing has partnered with StoreFinancial in an effort to promote Back in the Swing nationwide. StoreFinancial, an industry-leading provider of gift card programs, is providing all of its United States clients with the opportunity to promote the event through their existing gift card programs. Currently, StoreFinancial operates more than 400 gift card programs nationwide.
