Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada Hosts 2nd Annual “gUrl Fest” Sept. 3

Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada hosts its second annual gUrl fest – where it’s all about U, Saturday, September 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Girl Scout Leadership Center, 2941 Harris Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89101.

This free event is open to the public and offers girls ages 5 to 17 a look into the world of Girl Scouting. There will be hands-on activities for children of all ages.

“gUrl fest – where it’s all about U is a great way to show girls what is available as a Girl Scout,” said Kelle Boteilho, Chief Operating Officer, Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada. “Girls work toward their hopes and dreams everyday, and through Girl Scouts they discover their potential and gain courage, confidence, and character in a safe and girl-friendly environment.”

Girls can sample the inspiring world of Girl Scouting from the new astronomy club to programs that offer girls the opportunity to explore foreign countries while participating in service missions. Girls can also find out more about wildlife rescue, backstage Broadway, extreme adventure camps, whitewater rafting, robotics research and more.

Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada is the preeminent leadership development organization for girls – all girls – where, in an accepting and nurturing environment, girls build character and life skills for success in the real world. Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada serves more than 10,000 girl and adult members throughout Southern Nevada. Membership is open to all girls 5-17 years-old.
