Giving in Vegas: 5 Companies
Tuesday, Dec. 4 is Giving Tuesday.  Please find recent charitable giving in our community:

Mrs. Nevada 2020 for the United States of America’s Miss Pageant, Amanda Klein, (pictured above) created giving platform and fashion line, Smart Barbie, with a mission is to advocate for the advancement of women in our society. All proceeds of the clothing items, benefit Project Marilyn, which provides feminine hygiene kits to women and teens in our community. Since her reign, she has visited children at Sunrise Children’s Hospital, Cure for the Kids and at Grant a Gift for Autism’s new Family Resource Center.  Klein is also the Co-Chair of the Southern Nevada Leadership Board for the American Cancer Society.

Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield generously donates $10,000 for the Sunrise Children’s Foundation’s breastfeeding program.

Sunrise Children’s Foundation honored philanthropist, Cindy Doumani at the Color Us Friends’ Luncheon which raised dollars to fund 25 kids for the HIPPY (Home instruction of Parents of Preschool Youngers) program). The non-profit has touched the lives of 150,000 children and families annually, helped more than 344 kids across the valley at the developmental sites and early head start; more than 200 kids getting home instruction; and 24,000 thru the WIC programs.  Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield generously donated $10,000 donation for the non-profit’s breastfeeding program. Cicis Pizza on Charleston also raised some ‘dough’ with dining events  for the foundation.

To show gratitude to the brave men and women who serve the Las Vegas community, Adam S. Kutner & Associates sponsored a Salute to First Responders, filled with free food, games and prizes for the entire family. The Mayor and the City Council of Las Vegas recognized Adam S. Kutner and Las Vegas Elks Lodge with a proclamation naming it the official “First Responders Day.” Adam Kutner Cares has also partnered with several nonprofits in Las Vegas, including Make a Wish Foundation of Southern Nevada, Opportunity Village, Threesquare, Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada, and Home 4 Spot.

Cox Charities awards Vegas PBS for books for underserved families to build at home libraries

Cox Charities, the charitable arm of Cox Communications funded by employee donations, for awarding Vegas PBS over $1,000 for books for underserved families to build at home libraries. Vegas PBS delivers over 1,000 workshops across Southern Nevada each year demonstrating how parents, caregivers, and teachers can use PBS KIDS to provide fun learning activities that extend the educational experience beyond the broadcast. RTL distributes over 85,000 new books annually to support our initiatives and build at-home libraries.  https://www.vegaspbs.org/rtl/

IGT’s (International Game Technology) Women Inclusion Network partnered with nonprofit, Project Marilyn to collect donations and assemble 120 bags to benefit women and children need to help support the mission to end period poverty.
