Global Gaming Expo Celebrates Eleventh Year Featuring the Latest Innovations in Gaming Technology

Global Gaming Expo (G2E) 2011, the pre-eminent international event for the gaming entertainment industry, begins Oct. 4 with more than 425 companies represented, including over 70 international exhibitors from 25 different countries, offering an inside look at the latest gaming innovations, with 40,000 sq. ft. of exhibition space.

Now celebrating its 11th anniversary, G2E has grown significantly since its inception in 2001, and has seen attendance nearly double; proof that the Gaming industry is, despite these economics times, more vital and relevant than ever. This year the main show floor also features F&B at G2E, the Entertainment Arena, Security & Surveillance, Casino Design and iGaming pavilions.

American Gaming Association (AGA) president and CEO Frank Fahrenkopf will hold an on-site media briefing during Global Gaming Expo (G2E) 2011 to discuss the latest gaming industry news at 8:30 a.m. in Veronese 2401. He will discuss the current state of the gaming industry given the challenging economic environment as well as the AGA’s position on and activities surrounding the licensing and regulation of online poker in the U.S. Fahrenkopf also will debut the preliminary results of a soon-to-be-released economic impact study that paints the most complete picture in a decade of the industry’s contributions to the U.S. economy.

RIBBON-CUTTING CEREMONY:

Join Frank Fahrenkopf, president and CEO of the American Gaming Association for the official opening of G2E 2011 on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 9:45 a.m. at the show floor entrance. This year, celebrity Dan Aykroyd of Ghostbusters will take part in the opening ceremony welcoming this year’s attendees.

OPENING KEYNOTE:

G2E 2011’s keynote sessions will highlight growth opportunities in the gaming industry. The first of multiple keynote events will take place from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the Titian Ballroom of the Sands Expo & Convention Center. Today’s keynote speech features acclaimed comedian and magician Penn Jillette, of Rio’s long-standing act Penn & Teller, discussing the attraction to gaming, casino audiences and the freedom to gamble.

ENTERTAINMENT ARENA:

This year the Entertainment Arena at G2E will feature a performance stage, showcasing a selection of unique entertainment acts that can be booked at casinos across the country. Tuesday from 4:30-6:30 p.m., the G2E Entertainment Showcase Stage will present an array of musicians, magicians, comedians and variety acts.

Acts will include Britain’s Finest-The Complete Beatles Experience; Ricky Nelson Remembered and an Emcee performance from Sal Richards.
