Gold & Silver Pawn and The Epilepsy Foundation Join to Celebrate National Epilepsy Day in Nevada on March 26
The World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, home to HISTORY’s “Pawn Stars,” will join in the fight with the Epilepsy Foundation for National Epilepsy Day on March 26 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to wear purple in support and come join the fun! Those who donate a minimum of $5 will receive a purple cupcake from Freed’s Bakery and the chance to win autographed memorabilia or a photo with Richard “The Old Man” Harrison.

Epilepsy Awareness Day aims to reduce stigma and empower individuals living with epilepsy. Epilepsy is a neurological condition that from time to time produces a brief disturbance in the normal electrical functions of the brain causing a seizure. Conditions in the brain that produce these episodes may have been present since birth, or they may develop later in life due to injury, infection, or in most cases for reasons that are still not understood.

More people suffer from epilepsy than from multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and Parkinson’s disease combined. One in 10 people will have a seizure sometime during their life and one in 26 people will develop epilepsy. In Nevada alone, more than 27,000 people are affected by epilepsy.

“Pawn Stars” front man Rick Harrison, who dealt with epilepsy until his late teens, is the national spokesperson for the Epilepsy Foundation and this March marks the upcoming launch of the Epilepsy Foundation of Nevada. For more information, please visit www.facebook.com/EFNevada.
