Goodwill Expands in North Las Vegas By Opening a New Retail Store & Drive-Thru Donation Center
On Friday, November 6, 2015 at 9 a.m. hundreds of Goodwill of Southern Nevada shoppers will walk into a brand new build-to-suit Goodwill Retail Store & Drive-Thru Donation Center at 2509 E Lake Mead Blvd. (S/E corner of Lake Mead and Civic Center). 

The 17,000 square foot facility features a 13,000 square foot sales floor, a donation sorting space and a convenient drive-thru donation center. Opening the new store created more than 40 new jobswithin Goodwill of Southern Nevada’s retail and operations departments.

“This new Goodwill store and drive-thru donation is good business for North Las Vegas,” said North Las Vegas Mayor John J. Lee. “Not only is Goodwill creating full-time jobs and careers in our community, but this new store will help strengthen our local economy while providing a convenient and affordable place to shop.”

Goodwill of Southern Nevada has steadily opened brand new retail stores, as well as relocated existing retail stores into newer, larger locations with the generous support of its longtime broker, CBRE. This new location was developed by J.A. Kennedy Real Estate and Tiberti Construction.

The growth of Goodwill’s retail program is vital as sales in each store helps fund Goodwill’s job placement and training programs that assist people in Southern Nevada gain employment no matter circumstance or disability.

“We are a local nonprofit that serves this community,” said Goodwill of Southern Nevada President & CEO Steve Chartrand. “By opening new stores, we not only create new jobs but increase funding for vital services that help others work. With the community’s help, we create a powerful cycle of giving that transforms lives.”

With the new Lake Mead & Civic Center location, Goodwill of Southern Nevada will operate seventeen retail locations, including two Clearance Centers, and employs more than 800 people.

In 2014, Goodwill of Southern Nevada helped more than 2,300 individuals in Southern Nevada find employment at a variety of businesses, and provided job placement and training services to more than 10,000 people. In 2014, Vegas INC named Goodwill of Southern Nevada “Nonprofit of the Year.”
