Hash House A Go Go and Fox 5’s MORE! Anchors Give Back with Flapjacks

Hash House A Go Go Go puts a unique twist on National Pancake Week by celebrating it for two full weeks and teaming up with KVVU Fox 5’s MORE! anchors to create original pancakes with proceeds benefiting the charity Best Buddies.

Fox 5’s Jason Feinberg, Monica Jackson and Rachel Smith recently joined up with Chef Anthony Vidal of Hash House A Go Go to put their culinary skills to the test. Each anchor created their own special flapjack that will be offered at Hash House A Go Go from Feb. 23 through March 8. The dynamic trio will be pitted against each other to find out whose pancake the community likes best. $2 from each of the Fox 5 pancakes sold will be donated to Best Buddies. The best-selling flapjack will earn its creator the honor of having all the National Pancake Week proceeds donated to the charity in their name.

Jackson’s pancake is the “Cherry Chocolate Delight” featuring texture, taste and a hint of spice. The enormous flapjack mixes sour with sweet containing sour cherry, white chocolate chips and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Smith’s pancake, “Rachel’s Gone Bananas,” is a tasty concoction of fresh bananas, marshmallows and chocolate chips. Feinberg’s “Peanut Butter Choco-Cat” adds peanut butter and chocolate chips to the traditional flapjack making it perfect for those with a sweet tooth. All three pancakes will be featured on a special Fox 5 MORE! menu offered at $6.95. The pancakes will be available throughout breakfast, brunch and lunch from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily.

This year’s charity, Best Buddies, is an organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for one-on-one friendships and integrated employment.
