Henderson Councilwoman Gerri Schroder and Clark County Commissioner Jim Gibson Host October 9 Job Fair
Henderson Councilwoman Gerri Schroder, along with Clark County Commissioner Jim Gibson, Nevada JobConnect and Workforce Connections’ One Stop Delivery System, will host a job fair at 9 a.m. until about 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the Henderson Convention Center, 200 S. Water St.

Job seekers of all ages should be prepared to impress and bring at least 30 copies of their updated resume. Participating employers may have positions to be filled immediately and want to meet candidates face to face. Job-finding community resources will also be available at the job fair.

Attendees are encouraged to dress for success and to bring at least 30 copies of their current resumes to give to employers participating in the fair who are looking to fill full-time, part-time, permanent, and seasonal jobs. The fair will offer job seekers opportunities to interview with representatives from the City of Henderson and other government entities, as well as multiple companies including Walgreens, Sutherland Global Services and Homewatch Caregivers.

Employers and job seekers interested in attending the fair are encouraged to register at nvcareercenter.org/jobfair before Oct. 9 and receive priority entry. Registration is not a requirement, but is helpful to the organizers. Job seekers can call 702-822-4229 or email cpolke@snvwc.org for additional information.

“If you’re in the market for a new job, this event will feature dozens of employers seeking employees to fill a number of available positions now,” said Councilwoman Schroder. “This job fair also is an excellent opportunity for employers to meet skilled and ambitious people looking for opportunities to excel professionally.”

The goal of The One Stop Delivery System is to connect employers with a ready workforce, and to establish partnerships in the community that connect job seekers to education, training and employment opportunities. For more information visit the agency’s website: nvcareercenter.org.
