Horizon Crest Park Grand Opening Set for April 5
The City of Henderson
will host a grand opening celebration for Horizon Crest Park, 2393 W. Horizon Ridge Pkwy., from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 5.

Councilman Sam Bateman will join the community for the park’s official opening, which will include children’s activities and refreshments. A complimentary bike valet will be available for those wishing to park their bike.

Horizon Crest Park sits on five acres and includes a dog park, basketball courts, playground, picnic shelters, open grass area, and restrooms. The park is located adjacent to a water facility and features shade structures as art pieces using recycled materials acquired from the Southern Nevada Water Authority. Horizon Crest Park also features interpretive signage highlighting the importance of water, water savings and energy efficiency.

Funding of $3.2 million for Horizon Crest Park was received through a grant from the Bureau of Land Management as authorized by the Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act (SNPLMA). The city of Henderson has received more than $238 million in SNPLMA funding over the last decade for parks, trails and open space projects to benefit the community.

“Horizon Crest Park is our newest neighborhood park offering nearby residents a variety of recreational opportunities within walking distance of their home,” said Henderson Mayor Andy Hafen. “The park was designed with overwhelming support and input from neighborhoods bordering the site.”

Horizon Crest Park will be open 6 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week. For additional information, call (702) 267-4000 or visit us at cityofhenderson.com. Find us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.
