Huka Pele Brings the Heat for Las Vegas’ First Tiki Weekender Sept. 6-9
Huka Pele Tiki Weekender comes to the Thunderbird Hotel and Lounge, September 6th-9th 2018. Huka Pele is Las Vegas’ first weekender dedicated to celebrating tiki subculture and lifestyle. The 4-day event features live music, burlesque performances, pool parties sponsored by Bettie Page Rum, DJs, vendors, a carving village, educational classes, and the Queen of Huka Pele contest.
In its inaugural year, Huka Pele’s focus is on building the local tiki community. From the husband and wife production team to the mom and pop ceramic shop creating the limited-edition tiki mugs, Huka Pele is a locally driven event. Valley favorite bands such as the Swank Bastards, Phenomenauts, Sheiks of Neptune and more are set to play the event.
Sweetie Bird, Lolita Haze, Amaretto Sour, DeeDee Cupcake and other Las Vegas burlesque stars are also scheduled to perform. Las Vegas local, showgirl, international pin-up model, and former host of the Oxygen channel television series “Best Ink”, Sabina Kelley will be in attendance showcasing her new cosmetics line, Atomic Beauty Cosmetics, co-owned with long time friend, master celebrity makeup artist Michelle Schoser. Sabina and Michelle will also be guest judges of the Queen of Huka Pele contest hosted by Las Vegas’ own dynamic duo The Fox and The Vamp.
