Join First Friday for a Night of “Unity” This Month in Las Vegas July 7

Key elements for this month include:
- First Friday’s Featured Artists – Lickwid, a local artist specializing in mural work and tattooing is painting live on the Rickshaw pedi cab during the event (Instagram: @lickwid46). Two artists are showing their work in the Arts Factory – Randy L. Barton from Santa Fe, NM, whose artwork is a visual tool meant for educating the Navajo people, exploring the teachings from Navajo creation stories to find the answers & solutions to life’s problem. Fawn Douglas, a local artist who pulls her cultural heritage (Las Vegas Paiute) into her paintings. She works in mixed media, print, pastel, spray paint, acrylic, oil paint and ceramics. Also, members of the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe will be performing ceremonial dancing.
- Rock & Review, Race for October continues in July – each month from June to September, a winner will be chosen in this competition of local bands. In October – First Friday’s anniversary month – the four winners will go head-to-head and the ultimate winner will receive an exciting prize package. This month’s bands are: School of Rock – Green Valley, Angela Kerfoot, TEEJ and Spectrum.
- Izaac Zevalking of Recycled Propaganda teamed up with Dawson College Bound to allow young artists (7th and 8th grade) to share their perspectives about the world around them. Izaac guided these students through his own creative process and then encouraged them to find inspiration from their own lives to draw upon. The students created thoughtful pieces that have something to say about the world around them. The project is featured upstairs in the Arts Factory.

- Las Vegas Rickshaw pedi cabs drop off and pick up at Coolidge and 1st Rides from downtown Las Vegas to First Friday and back all night.
Art Style: Emerging and established artists, arts, crafts curated by artist Izaac Zevalking. Interactive painting for those who want to explore their own creativity.
ArtWalk 5 p.m. – 11 p.m. showcases work by emerging Las Vegas artists. Check out the artist booths in main festival area. Be sure to stop into the Arts Factory and Art Square, and visit the many art galleries and studios.
Paint by numbers every First Friday with Jasmine Farro and Friends
Kids Zone. In Boulder Plaza. Jewelry making, face painting, blocks, chalk art and Tumble Bus outdoor fun.
Epyk Dance DepARTment 5 p.m. – 11 p.m. is where First Friday patrons can learn about a variety of dance forms, listen to music, and make new friends all while getting good exercise. Location for the Dance DepARTment: on Coolidge (between 1st and Main Streets).
Community Productions Drum Circle 5 p.m. – 11 p.m. Drum Circle participation all night long.
Food & Drink 5 p.m. – 11 p.m. Explore the many options for your taste buds as the First Friday culinary experience is back in full force with delicious options from a wide variety of food trucks and artisan food vendors. Special drinks at First Friday bars. And, try out one of the many restaurants in the arts district. Enjoy drinks at the many bars both in the First Friday event area and nearby in the arts district.
Music 5 p.m. – 11 p.m. E320 Entertainment Group presents live entertainment on the main stage. Battle of the Bands: featuring School of Rock – Green Valley, Angela Kerfoot, TEEJ and Spectrum.
