Lance Burton to Serve as Grand Marshal for Opportunity Village’s 2018 "Las Vegas Great Santa Run"
On Thursday, October 25, famed magician and Las Vegas icon, Lance Burton, visited Opportunity Village and was named the official Grand Marshal of the 14th annual Las Vegas Great Santa Run on Saturday, December 1 (Pictured: Lance Burton and Michael Goudeau visit clients at Opportunity Village)

Surrounded by the organization’s beloved clients and staff, Burton toured Opportunity Village’s Ralph & Betty Engelstad Campus and performed his famous tricks to an amazed audience. He was joined by friend and surprise guest entertainer, juggler/comedian Michael Goudeau.

Performing more than 15,000 shows over the last 30 years, Burton is widely considered by his peers to be one of the greatest stage magicians of the past century.

“I am thrilled to be this year’s Grand Marshal at OV’s Las Vegas Great Santa Run,” said Burton. “Meeting the clients today made the title all the more wonderful and I can’t wait to see the thousands of faces support this honorable cause on December 1.”

Returning to Downtown Las Vegas, the city’s favorite fundraiser will welcome Mayor Carolyn Goodman and The Strip’s Chippendales as the one-mile Kris Kringle Jingle Grand Marshals. Runners also will enjoy special performances by the cast of Human Nature, Gabriella Versace of SEXXY, Lorena Peril of Fantasy, and, of course, the beloved OV Elvi – the world’s only all-Elvis dance troupe.

New in 2018, the Las Vegas Great Santa Run will offer a post-race celebration in the Zappos’ Llama Lot featuring additional live entertainment, adult beverages, goat yoga, giant inflatable foosball and numerous food trucks and vendor booths.

The internationally-recognized event has easily become the city’s jolliest fun run. The Las Vegas Great Santa Run raises funds and awareness for Opportunity Village’s programs and services, which provide unparalleled opportunities, enrichment and support to nearly 2,000 Southern Nevada adults with disabilities and their families.

Registration is now open for the 2018 run at LVSantaRun.com and is $40 for general participation; free for children three and under; and $10 for canine companions. The package includes a five-piece Santa suit, a runner goody bag, a commemorative medal and entry into the new post-race celebration in the Zappos’ Llama Lot. Group discounts are available by contacting Casey Parisi at 702-880-4085 or parisic@opportunityvillage.org.
