Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort and Coors Light presents Lee Canyon Mountain Fest on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013.
The end-of-summer-season celebration is from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and features live music by local favorites Rusty Maples, To the Moon and Same Sex Mary. The event also includes the Templeton & Rye whiskey tent, Ballast Point beer garden and pig roast from Big Ern’s BBQ.
Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door and pending availability. Tickets can be purchased on-line at www.skilasvegas.com.
Tickets include entrance to Lee Canyon Mountain Fest, music and two tickets for the Ballast Point beer garden for guests 21 and older with valid identification. Food and beverages at the Bighorn Grill and Bristlecone Bar and other LVSSR activities are available but are not included in the ticket price.
Music kicks off at 1 p.m., with headliner Rusty Maples taking the stage at 4:30 p.m. Other activities include a horseshoe tournament that begins at 2 p.m. Scenic chairlift rides and disc golf will also be offered during the event.
“LVSSR wants to close our summer season with a huge celebration of our local mountain. We encourage the whole family to come out for this special event,” said Maria Jose Norero, LVSSR’s director of marketing.
LVSSR will donate 20 percent of all scenic chairlift ticket sales to the Mt. Charleston Volunteer Fire Department. Additional information on Lee Canyon Mountain Fest is available online at www.skilasvegas.com.
LVSSR’s summer season officially ends on Monday, Sept. 2 but the resort will reopen for the Rock the Canyon Rally on Sept. 7 and 8. LVSSR will reopen for the 2013/14 winter season on Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, weather permitting.
Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort (LVSSR) is located approximately one hour from downtown Las Vegas in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. Established in 1963, LVSSR offers guests access to 30 groomed trails and 250 acres of lift-served side-country terrain via three chair lifts and one surface lift. The area features a ski and snowboard school, terrain parks, more than 240 inches of average snowfall per year and off-slope amenities such as dining, snowshoeing and summer activities.
