LG Electronics Debuts First “Glasses Free” 3D Mobile Digital TV Broadcast on Vegas PBS at CES

LG Electronics has introduced the first “glasses free” 3D mobile digital TV broadcast at the 2011 International CES. During the demonstration, Vegas PBS became the first U.S. broadcast station to transmit 3D images via the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) Mobile Digital Television (MDTV) Standard. The ATSC is an international, non-profit organization that develops voluntary standards for digital television.

This milestone follows a number of other firsts for Vegas PBS. The Vegas PBS Educational Technology Campus recently became the first television building in the U.S. to be awarded LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council as well as the first Media Security and Reliability Commission compliant broadcast facility. It is also home to the largest online high school in Nevada, the largest solar voltaic roof array in Nevada and is the largest geothermal office complex in Nevada.
