LSSN Continues Thanksgiving Food Basket Program Nov. 19
In partnership with the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority, Lutheran Social Services of Nevada will be distributing 100 turkeys and Thanksgiving food baskets to low income families. The event will be held on Friday, November 19th at 11:00 am at the Cannon Center located at 340 N. Eleventh St. (South Entrance), Las Vegas, NV, 89101.
Overall, during the week before Thanksgiving, LSSN will be distributing 300 turkeys and Thanksgiving food baskets.
Community Lutheran Church donated 29 turkeys and several thousand pounds worth of non-perishable trimmings for Thanksgiving dinners. Many congregations and individuals participated in this collection.
Last year, LSSN distributed 10,000 pounds worth of full Thanksgiving dinners to area families and seniors as a part of this drive. In addition, LSSN distributed over 206,000 pounds of food through our emergency food pantry to over 15,000 people last year.
