Mayor of Henderson Declares September 15 ‘Pasta Shop Ristorante & Art Gallery Day’
Acknowledging Pasta Shop Ristorante’s long standing presence in the community, Henderson Mayor Debra March has officially declared this Sunday, September 15, 2019 to be “Pasta Shop Ristorante & Art Gallery Day.” September 15 marks the passing of Pasta Shop founding Chef/Owner David Alenik.
The Proclamation reads in part, “Whereas, known as a community-driven, charitable man, David Alenik passed September 15, 2016, at age 58; and, Whereas, his family and customers join in honoring David’s legacy while celebrating the Pasta Shop’s 30-year anniversary September 15 … NOW, Therefore, I, Debra March, as Mayor of the City of Henderson, Nevada, do hereby proclaim September 15, 2019, as Pasta Shop Ristorante & Art Gallery Day and encourage our residents and visitors to celebrate this fine establishment that has become a cornerstone of Henderson’s culinary community.”
“We are very humbled by this honor in David’s memory,” said Pasta Shop owner Ann Alenik, “and love continuing to serve our friends and neighbors in Henderson.”

To commemorate the proclamation, the Alenik family will donate a portion of all sales today through Sunday to the Chef David Scholarship Fund, created in his honor. Specials for the weekend will include Chicken Davida, a house favorite named in honor of David (sauteed chicken breast, topped with fried eggplant, sun-dried tomatoes, mozzarella, and polenta – served with fresh vegetables) and Veal Osso Bucco (served with gnocchi, brown butter & roasted heirloom tomato sauce, grilled asparagus and roasted carrots). All diners will also receive free cannoli with any entree purchase Friday-Sunday.
Pasta Shop Ristorante is a full-service restaurant and caterer offering fresh pasta, seafood, Italian favorites and a full vegan menu. Fresh pasta is also available for retail and wholesale.
