Stolper’s story is one of a dreamer. Since her childhood in a small Ukraine farming community, she always wanted to be an artist. At age 11 she worked on a farm and painted in any free time, always dreaming of a better life. There was no culture in her village, but there was culture in young Stolper. At age 19 she was accepted to art school in Russia. A few years later Stopher escaped from Russia to Israel.

In 1993, at the age of 34, she moved to San Francisco where she studied at Berkley’s School of Professional Fabric Design and later worked as a fabric designer. In 1998, she settled in Santa Rosa, Calif., where she studied under world-renowned artist Charles Becker, who later called her one of the best students he ever had. In 2014 she agreed to have Art encounter represent her works on an exclusive basis.

“It will be a wonderful evening and a real treat for the eyes.” Scott Ferguson, executive director added, “Art encounter is excited about representing an artist of Luba’s talent and skill. Our clients will be thrilled when they see the quality of her works first hand.”
