Monthly Gathering of Entrepreneurs and High Performers Leverages Equine Interactions to Improve Executive Leadership Skills
A new monthly gathering of business leaders isn’t horsing around in its dedication to leadership and personal development. In fact, the participants are looking to the intuition and compassion of horses to help guide them to becoming better leaders.

On Jan 10th, the HorsePower Mastermind program will hold its first gathering at the Cozy Heart Ranch, 6125 W. Elkhorn Road, in the North Las Vegas Valley. The monthly gatherings are a hands-on immersive experience challenging high-performers and executives to improve personal and business skills through working one-on-one with horses while networking with other business minds in a unique outdoor environment.
“Horses are prey animals and because of that predator-prey relationship, a horse decides immediately whether to trust you or not,” said Kri Edholm, founder and excursion visionary for Leadership Excursion Co., the Las Vegas-based leadership development company that runs the monthly program. “Horses see the authentic you; you can’t mask or hide anything with them. They are tremendous teachers and these experiences force people to think differently about how they present themselves and engage with others.”
Each month, participants will be exposed to a unique networking and self-improvement environment alongside other entrepreneurs and business owners looking to better themselves. Participants will:
- Carve out purposeful time to focus solely on themselves
- Build meaningful connections with other professionals
- Brainstorm and refine business initiatives and ideas
- Work through challenges
- Receive and provide support to others
- Participate in horse-assisted personal development programming
An emphasis on self-care makes the experience even more unique, Edholm adds.
“Our clients are so busy that they rarely take the time for themselves. Part of that is forcing yourself to get away once a month, putting away those distractions. … That self-care element really sets this apart from traditional mastermind groups,” she said.
The first gathering is free, and proceeds from future experiences also support Dust Devil Ranch Sanctuary for Horses.
