More Than 250 Guests Support Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada at Inaugural Cookies & Kegs Event

For the first time, Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada hosted Cookies & Kegs. Attracting more than 250 attendees and raising more than $5,000 from ticket sales for Girl Scouts programs, this unique event showcased the pairing of popular Girl Scout cookies with craft beers from Henderson’s Lovelady Brewing Company (Brandi Farra / Brandi Photography).

In addition to the cookies and brews, complimentary appetizers were served.

Pairings presented at Cookies & Kegs included:

• Love Triangle (Red Ale) with Thanks-A-Lot cookies
• Tres Amour Tripel (Belgian Tripel) and HopAtomic (Double IPA) with Lemonades
• Steamin’ Nights (Pepper Brown) with Peanut Butter Sandwich
• OUTBOCK! (Bock/IPA hybrid) with Thin Mints
• SourPuss (Kettle Sour Ale) and Porter deLite with Caramel deLites
• Café Femenino (Porter) with Peanut Butter Patties

During this event, Lovelady Brewing Company Owner and Brewmaster Richard Lovelady not only featured specific beer-cookie pairings, but also created a special Girl Scout brew especially for the cause. Called Porter deLite, the concoction consists of Lovelady Brewing Company’s Porter infused with Caramel deLites, plus extra coconut and cocoa nibs.

The event proceeds continue to lay the foundation for all girls in Southern Nevada to become tomorrow’s female leaders. In addition to funding scholarships, proceeds enable the organization to reach girls in all demographics and areas of the community as well as expanding upon current programming such as Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), social values and financial literacy. Most importantly, support for Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada helps encourage girls to embrace imaginative and innovative approaches to everything they do—with the goal of creating a better world for all.

Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada is the preeminent leadership development organization for girls of all ages and serves more than 6,000 youth and adult members throughout Southern Nevada.
