36th Annual “Free Cone Day,” held on Tuesday, April 8, 2013 at the Scoop Shops located in the District at Green Valley Ranch and Sunset Station Hotel & Casino was a great success, serving 7,929 scoops or the equivalent of 1,485 pounds of ice cream!

Each year, the Henderson shops enlist the help of local celebrities to scoop ice cream while supporting local children’s charities, and this year, St. Jude’s Ranch for Children raised almost $2,000 over the course of the day’s event at both stores.

The District at Green Valley Ranch Scoop Shop welcomed the star-studded support of Daena Kramer of the Dave, Mahoney and DK show on X107.5; Chris Phillips/Zowie Bowie, Comedy Magician Murray Sawchuck with Chloe Crawford and Lefty; The Revolver Girls; BMX pro Ricardo Laguna; Graham Fenton and Douglas Crawford from Jersey Boys; Comedy Hypnotist Marc Savard; Kyle and Nate from Men of the Strip; the ladies of FANTASY; Josh Strickland and Chelsea Phillips Reid, stars of VEGAS! Additionally, the District at Green Valley Ranch location featured a DJ, face painting and a balloon artist and welcomed back GAMES2U, a mobile unit featuring a variety of interactive games and activities.
