The Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation (NVCCF) will hold its 23rd annual Camp Cartwheel Summer Camp at Torino Ranch for critically ill children and their siblings July 17–20 and 24–27. The event, created and managed by NVCCF, is a 24-hour medically supervised, outdoor and overnight camp experience for children diagnosed with cancer or other life-threatening illnesses.

Camp Cartwheel at Torino Ranch includes four fun-filled days of swimming, scuba diving, arts and crafts, canoeing, outdoor games, rock wall climbing and much more. NVCCF staff and volunteers provide more than 200 campers, ages five through 17, the chance to form positive peer relationships, develop greater independence, boost self-esteem and have the opportunity to feel healthy and happy. Since 1996, Camp Cartwheel has hosted more than 3,000 children and each year, more than 150 camp staff and volunteers help children overcome the physical, mental and emotional obstacles posed by childhood disease.
“Through this magical week, we witness the true inner strength and courage of the children we serve,” said Jeff Gordon, president and CEO of NVCCF. “To see them forget about their illness for a short time and enjoy life through this medically supervised setting at the beautiful Torino Ranch is heartwarming.”
For more than 17 years, Brett Torino, owner of Torino Ranch, and his dedicated team at Torino Ranch put forth a year-round effort in creating and improving upon a beautiful and magical haven, which serves as the home for NVCCF’s Camp Cartwheel.
“Through his years of generosity to children served by NVCCF, Brett Torino has provided a camp where kids feel at home, where memories are made to last a lifetime, where children are encouraged to continue their fight against disease and where they are given hope for the future,” said Jeff Gordon.

Children attending Camp Cartwheel are given a cost-free camp experience thanks to generous donations from Brett Torino and local businesses, community leaders, caring individuals and other generous supporters.
