Nevada SPCA to host Fifth Annual Animals in Wonderland Champagne & High Tea April 30
Nevada SPCA
is kicking off the fifth chapter of its annual Animals in Wonderland Champagne & High Tea with a star-studded red carpet, silent auction, themed luncheon, local duets and a special performance by GRAMMY-award winning band Blues Traveler

In collaboration with Mix 94.1 and on-air personality Heather Collins the Nevada SPCA will welcome Blues Traveler for an exclusive set later in the afternoon. The band will perform classic fan favorites including “Hook” and “Run Around” in addition to new songs from their recently released album Blow Up The Moon. Known for their commanding live show that continues to draw thousands of fans, Blues Traveler has announced the first leg of their North American tour which will continue throughout 2015.

After selling millions of records and logging thousands of miles on the road, Blues Traveler continues to chart new musical directions evident on their newest album. Blow Up The Moon is a clever collaboration between various artists and an eclectic mix of songwriters influenced by the band’s remarkable 25+ year career that includes multi-platinum albums and numerous awards and accomplishments. Blow Up The Moon features collaborating artists Thompson Square, Plain White T’s, 3OH!3, Hanson, Jewel, Secondhand Serenade, JC Chasez (*NSYNC), Bowling for Soup, New Hollow and Thomas Ian Nicholas.

The theme of this year’s Animals in Wonderland event is Duets — honoring rescued animals with soul-mates, who are bonded for life. Local entertainers including Paul Shortino of Raiding the Rock Vault; Frankie Moreno; Andrew Ragone and Nicole Kaplan from the cast of Showstoppers; Martin J. St. Pierre of Cirque Du Soleil’s Mystere and comedians Matt & Mattingly will come together as showcased duets to tie in with the event theme.

Keeping bonded animals together for life is one of the most important facets of Nevada SPCA’s work, along with a focus on physical and emotional rehabilitation, matching rescued animals into forever homes, and saving animals in peril from other shelters or the desert, streets, abandoned houses, or other dangers.

Supporters are encouraged to express love for animal rescue and rehabilitation throughout the day by participating in the silent auction or donating any amount of their choice to the NSPCA at the event or via www.nevadaspca.org.

The Nevada SPCA, a non-profit organization, operates a no-kill animal shelter, promotes humane education, makes referrals for lower-cost spay/neuter and vaccination services, and challenges people to be the best possible guardians for the companion animals in their care. The staff and volunteers work to achieve adoption goals by treating each animal as an individual, with a name instead of a number. The organization strives to match each rescued animal with people by personality and lifestyle in order to have the best chance to find a forever home.
