Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards to Recognize Justin Timberlake for Charitable Work

The Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open is proud to announce that celebrity host Justin Timberlake will be honored at Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards this Saturday, April 2. Timberlake will receive the Big Help Award which recognizes individuals who take actions to better the world and whose significant impact on their community has inspired kids to do the same.

Justin Timberlake has turned his love of golf and his passion for helping into an annual PGA tournament that raises funds and awareness for Shriners Hospitals for Children. The Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas features a series of events including the Charley Hoffman Pro-Am, a Women’s Day, various charity events throughout the week and finally the Justin Timberlake and Friends Concert which in years past has included stars such as Sir Elton John, Christina Aguilera, Taylor Swift and Alicia Keys among others.

“I was inspired at a young age by my parents and family to do everything possible to give back to the world around us,” said Timberlake. “And it has become a mission of mine to help kids of all ages understand the importance of getting involved in their communities and local charities and doing their part to preserve the planet.”

In addition to the annual Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, Timberlake has participated in several public service announcement campaigns for Shriners Hospitals for Children, a health care system of 22 hospitals dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing pediatric specialty care, innovative research, and outstanding teaching programs for medical professionals, where all care and services are provided regardless of the patients’ ability to pay.

Tune into the 24th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday, April 2 at 8 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon and help the tournament recognize Timberlake for all his charitable work. The Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open will take place at TPC Summerlin from Sept. 25 to Oct. 2, 2011.
