PDQ and Vegas PBS Partner to Benefit Veterans and Services for the Deaf and Blind

PDQ and Vegas PBS Partner to Benefit Veterans and Services for the Deaf and Blind
PDQ
, a rapidly growing restaurant brand known for its fresh, affordable chicken tenders, salads and sandwiches, is joining forces with Vegas PBS to help veterans and bolster services for the deaf and blind.

With the coming of a second location – set to open on Sunday, July 12 at 3010 W. Sahara Ave. – PDQ is ramping up its annual fundraising initiatives to raise thousands of dollars for great organizations throughout Southern Nevada, all while providing a fun experience to their guests.

“Since we opened our first local store in North Las Vegas in March, we have been reaching out to nonprofits, youth organizations and community centers to see how we can help,” said Tony Grappo, PDQ market director. “Our announcement today, to join with Vegas PBS to support some of their wonderful programming, we hope will be the first of many partnerships that give us the chance to give back while sharing our great-tasting food.”

Beginning Aug. 4, each Las Vegas PDQ location will host one fundraising night per month. One night will benefit the Vegas PBS Workforce Training and Economic Development program for veterans, which helps them connect to educational services, military-friendly employment opportunities and other programs. The other fundraising night will benefit the Vegas PBS Described and Captioned Media Center (DCMC), which provides resources for the blind and visually impaired and the deaf and hard of hearing and their families. During these nights, the community is invited to
dine at PDQ, either in the dining room or drive-thru, and in turn, PDQ will donate a percentage of sales generated by the charity’s supporters back to the organization.

“Vegas PBS thanks PDQ for supporting our veteran’s workforce training services and the Described and Captioned Media Center. We’re committed to helping our community in a number of ways such as career assessments for veterans and literacy kits for those with families with members having visual or hearing impairments. This partnership will facilitate those efforts,” said Vegas PBS General Manager Tom Axtell.
