Penn & Teller Celebrate 11 Years as AFAN AIDS Walk Grand Marshals and Continue Penn & Teller Challenge

For the 11th consecutive year, Penn & Teller will serve as Grand Marshals during Aid for AIDS of Nevada’s (AFAN) 22nd Annual AIDS Walk Las Vegas at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) on Sunday, April 15 (Photo: © Erik Kabik/ www.erikkabik.com). 

In addition to their role as Grand Marshals, the amazing entertainment duo will once again lead the Penn & Teller Challenge team, with the promise to match all funds raised by their team.

Penn & Teller’s participation is especially appreciated this year since Penn Jillette will be taking a break from competing on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice to attend the AIDS Walk. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the AIDS Walk starts at 10:30 a.m. on April 15. The AIDS Walk serves as AFAN’s largest fundraiser of the year, providing funds for programs to assist and educate more than 3,500 men, women and children infected with HIV and AIDS in southern Nevada.

All those who join the Penn & Teller Challenge will be contributing to the amazing fundraising effort led by the famous duo. Penn & Teller will match all monetary funds raised by pledges and donations to AFAN, which resulted in more than $219,000 after the 2011 AIDS Walk Las Vegas.

Friends of Penn & Teller and AFAN, including Caesars Entertainment and Blue Man Group, are also contributing to the effort this year by donating prize items for the AIDS Walk’s various fundraising levels. Details on the fundraising levels and corresponding rewards are as follows:

*VIP Night at the Penn & Teller show will be held at The Rio on one night for all qualifying participants (the date of event is TBD). The night’s events include a backstage meet and greet, private magic lesson and cocktail hour.

Registration for the AIDS Walk is free, but a minimum donation of $50 per person is encouraged. Registration with a donation includes the official AIDS Walk Las Vegas T-shirt.
