Plant World Nursery to Host Free Kid’s Flower Potting Sessions
Plant World Nursery is offering a free monthly kid’s flower potting session beginning Saturday, June 21 from 10 am–2 pm (Pictured: Three-year-old Kane Ellis learns the basics of flower potting – Photo credit: Plant World Nursery).
Open to all children ages 3 to 12, children will have the opportunity to plant various types of seeds that they will be able to take home and nurture, while their parents have the convenience to shop for gardening needs.
Taking place every third Saturday of the month, the kid’s flower potting session will allow kids to experience the joy of gardening, and offer them a chance to spend time visiting Plant World Nursery’s tropical birds, turtles and desert tortoises. Limit one pot per child.
The Kids Flower Potting schedule for the summer is as follows:
- Saturday, June 21
- Saturday, July 19
- Saturday, August 16
“We pride ourselves in being an establishment that is family friendly,” said Tim Reynolds, General Manager of Plant World. “We also feel it’s important for kids to learn gardening at a young age, so they understand how to properly grow and maintain plants and flowers at home, and can appreciate nature.”
Plant World Nursery has been serving the Las Vegas valley since 1967 with the largest selection of gardening and landscaping materials. Its 10-acre site houses a 4,000 sq. ft. greenhouse, the largest in the city. Plant World Nursery is available for private events, school tours and provides contractor discounts.
