PT’s, Sierra Gold Taverns Register Participants for Las Vegas Great Santa Run
As the presenting sponsor for the Las Vegas Great Santa Run benefiting Opportunity Village for the second year, Golden Gaming, Inc. will once again be registering run participants at all tavern locations, offering early Santa suit pickup and selling $1 and $5 Santa danglers with all proceeds benefiting the charity.
Last year, Golden Gaming helped raised $20,000 for the Las Vegas Great Santa Run benefiting Opportunity Village through its taverns.
The Las Vegas Great Santa Run, held Dec. 4 at 10 a.m. at Town Square, serves as a fundraising effort to benefit Opportunity Village and is an attempt to break the current world record for the largest Santa gathering. Registration is $35 for participants 13 and older, $25 for those 12 and under prior to the race, and $45 starting at 8 a.m. on race day. The registration fee includes a five-piece Santa suit and great gifts including a ticket to the 2009 season of Magical Forest at Opportunity Village.
Along with registration, early Santa suit pick up will also be available at Sierra Gold on Warm Springs Road in Henderson and Sierra Gold on Aliante Parkway in North Las Vegas, Nov. 27 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and again at Sierra Gold on Jones Boulevard Nov. 29 through Dec. 1 from 2 to 8 p.m.
The current world record for the Santa Run was set in 2007 with 12,965 participants at the Santa Dash in Derry Ireland. In 2009, the Las Vegas Great Santa Run had 8,868 participants, its best effort to date. This year, Opportunity Village and Golden Gaming Inc. are working hard to reach the 13,000 participant plateau.
