This is the sixth year for the Las Vegas Hospitality Association (LVHA) “Fill A Bag With Cheer” operation that required months of preparation and hundreds of volunteers adopting children-in-need (Pictured: Young girl opening gifts).
This year 300 kindergarten through fifth graders at Richard C. Priest Elementary School were adopted and and received jumbo bags filled with shoes and socks, a winter coat, a sweater or shirt, blanket, toys, books and other items. The New Tropicana Las Vegas employees adopted 100 of the kids.
Richard C. Priest Elementary School is 86 percent free at-risk lunch and Title 1 status. It was recently selected as a ZOOM school with estimates that 83 percent of these children are homeless.
