Sammy’s Restaurant & Bar Gets Social with New Food and Wine Pairing Series
Sammy’s Restaurant & Bar in Green Valley will pair food and friends with sensational libations for a new monthly event, Sammy’s Social Club.
The event series, which occurs the final Wednesday of every month, pairs four-course dinners with drinks from a highlighted vineyard, distillery or brewery, with the first event priced at $60 per person.
The Social Club kicks off on Wednesday, March 26, at 7 p.m. with dishes paired with Moet & Chandon Champagne varietals. The four-course dinner will begin with Ahi Poke, Hawaiian tuna served with crispy wontons, marinated in a red chili soy sauce and topped with sesame seeds and green onion. The dish will be paired with the Moet & Chandon Brut Imperial. For the second course, diners will indulge in a Brie Cheese & Truffle Oil Artisan Thin Crust Pizza, topped with sautéed mushrooms and paired with the Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage 2004.The entrée course will feature the Herb Marinated Flat Iron Steak, which sits atop spiced lentils. The steak will be accompanied by the Moet & Chandon Brut Imperial Rose NV. For dessert, guests will enjoy the Warm Crispy Mini Donuts, which come with raspberry & chocolate sauce. The final paired wine of the night will be the Moet & Chandon Brut Nectar Rose NV.
Upcoming pairings includes the Franciscan Estate Winery on April 30, Glenmorangie Whiskey on May 28, Clos Du Bois Winery on June 25 and Robert Mondavi Winery on July 30. Sammy’s will also host a special Social Club meeting during the week of June 9 for Father’s Day, where the menu will be paired with Sierra Nevada Brewery.
