School of Rock Opens First Las Vegas Location Oct. 1

School of Rock, a unique nationwide music school focusing on private lessons, group rehearsals and seasonal live rock performances, opens its first Las Vegas location at 9340 W. Flamingo Road, Suite 117 on Oct. 1, 2011.

School of Rock offers students an authentic band experience by giving students the opportunity to jam with other kids and perform at popular venues in front of live audiences. The school teaches music that students love to play and audiences of all ages love to hear, including classic rock, funk, reggae, heavy metal, alternative, indie, and progressive rock. By playing music that they love in a group environment, students become inspired and quickly develop their confidence and musical skills.

“We are very excited to bring School of Rock to aspiring young musicians here in the Las Vegas valley,” remarked Cammy Warden, School of Rock general manager. “Our students are given an unprecedented opportunity to obtain all of the tools necessary to grow and succeed as rock musicians.”

School of Rock is primarily focused on students ages 7 to 18. Adult programs are also available. School of Rock’s proprietary performance-based curriculum teaches students to play rock music in a unique and interactive way. There are weekly individual lessons on guitar, bass, drums, keyboard & vocals and weekly group sessions with seasonal performances. Because of the age range School of Rock accommodates, younger students receive quality guidance while elder students are provided with the tools to lead and mentor.

A variety of programs are available based upon the individual needs of the student. Those interested in learning more or booking a trial lesson should contact School of Rock directly at (702) 778-9382 or summerlin@schoolofrock.com.

Open houses are currently scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 28 and Friday, Sept. 30.

School of Rock currently has more than 70 locations throughout the United States, covering instrument training, songwriting, recording, and live performance etiquette. School of Rock is associated with a number of networks, allowing for various big names in the industry to occasionally speak with and educate the students. Members of Kiss, Jane’s Addiction, Coheed and Cambria, and the Eurythmics are just a few of the musicians who have in the past volunteered their time and knowledge to foster music appreciation at School of Rock.
