Think you can brave the brain freeze? Try your luck in the Ice Cream Eating Contest! The contest begins at 11 a.m., with categories for teens (ages 13-17) and adults (18+). The contest is limited to six participants per category, so be sure to sign up early to participate. Sign-ups will take place outside of the Origen Museum on the day of the event on a first come, first serve basis. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each category.

For an additional fee, the Kids Cactus Ice Cream lesson will educate little ones on the science of making ice cream, while they learn about the edible parts of a cactus and have an opportunity create their own ice cream flavor. Classes run from 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Tickets are $3 per child. Class sizes are limited so purchase your tickets as soon as you arrive.

The Springs Preserve Ice Cream Festival is made possible through the generous support of the generous support of NV Energy, Smith’s Food and Drug, Nevada Health Link, Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center and The Adventuredome Theme Park at Circus Circus Las Vegas.

WHERE: Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd., (Meadows Ln. Between Alta Dr. and U.S. 95)

WHEN: Saturday, May 12, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

COST: Admission for non-members is $10 for adults and $8 for children ages 3-12. Member tickets are $9 for adults, $7children. 2 and under are admitted free. Silver State Pass, Gold and Platinum members receive free admission. Advance tickets are available at the Springs Preserve box office and at springspreserve.org. Advanced ticketing is recommended as this event will sell out. Event tickets are for Ice Cream Festival only.
