Seeing the Sights of Las Vegas

If you are headed to Las Vegas, you need to be aware of some of the most do items and add them to your itinerary. The area is full of things to see and do, but not all of them are well-known, so here are some great ideas to get you started.

The Grand Canyon

This is a once in a lifetime type trip that is well worth the time, such an amazing natural phenomenon that has to be seen to be appreciated for the magnificent beauty that it is. There are plenty of guided bus tour taking in the South Rim, and of course, they stop at all the main spots. You can visit the Grand Canyon Railway which is operational and full of history, see Mather Point and Yavapai Point before spending some time in the Grand Canyon Village which has the obligatory shop so you can get souvenirs for the family back home. The drive there will take you past the Hoover Dam and provide the perfect photo opportunity. A full tour does take about 13 hours but it is well worth it, and most tours offer you a picnic along the way.

High Roller Observation Wheel

If you fancy taking in the sights without travelling quite as many miles, then do book onto the High Roller which is the tallest observation wheel in the world and offers a spectacular view from the top which is 550 feet off the ground. A ride lasts for 30 minutes, and you will probably want to go back and do it all again as the views really are breathtaking. An insider tip to remember is that the best views are on the right side of the cabins so try to secure yourself a place there without saying a word. If you want refreshments, you can get drinks from the wheelhouse bar before you board.

Madame Tussauds

Yes, Vegas has its own Madam Tussauds, and these are always venues worth visiting, you can get up close and personal with all your favorite film stars, pop stars, athletes and more, well their wax life forms at least. Do not forget your camera so you can see how many of your friends you can fool into thinking you met the real deal once you are back home.

Big Bus Las Vegas

If you are still enjoying the sight of the strip, then hop on board the Nic Bus which is a great way to see the area and learn as you go with loads of information along the way. This is a hop on, hop off tour so you can stay as long or as little as you want. The entire route is a sizeable four-hour chunk of time but as there is so much to see the time flies and you will learn loads about Nevada as you go.
