SouthwestUSA Bank to Host Blood Drive June 17

As the temperatures rise in Southern Nevada, people tend to take more vacations and schedules become hectic with kids out of school. Summer is traditionally a difficult time for United Blood Services to attract donors to blood drives due to busy schedules, but as donors decrease, the need for blood, too, continues to increase.

To help United Blood Bank Services, SouthwestUSA Bank – located at 4043 S. Eastern Ave. on the corner of Flamingo Rd. – is hosting a blood drive. The blood drive will run from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m., on Wednesday, June 17, in the conference room at the bank.

An appointment is required for a donation and can be scheduled online at bloodhero.com using the sponsor code “swbank,” or by calling April Spreitzer at 702-853-4739. Donors will receive vouchers for two free tickets to a Las Vegas 51s baseball game.

Eligible donors must be at least 17 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds. All donors must feel well the day of their blood donation and present photo identification. Donors are encouraged to drink water in the days prior to their donation and to eat a good meal before giving blood.

SouthwestUSA Bank, with assets of approximately $215 million, is Nevada’s only private bank. Established in 2001, its unique concierge program includes such amenities as no teller lines, fully-licensed mobile banking capability, and a personal managing director for every client.
