The Animal Foundation to Join Nationwide Clear the Shelters Day August 18
The Animal Foundation announced today that it will be partnering again with Telemundo Las Vegas/KBLR to participate in the nationwide Clear the Shelters Day event from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, August 18. During the one-day-only event held at The Animal Foundation campus at 655 North Mojave Road, the shelter will waive adoption fees for all animals waiting for forever homes.

Several hundred dogs, cats and small animals, including rabbits, will be available for adoption. The no-cost adoptions (city/government fee up to $10 may apply) on August 18 will include spay/neuter surgery, microchip and up-to-date vaccines. Adoptable pets will also be available for free at The Animal Foundation’s Everyday Adoption Center at the PetSmart at 286 W. Lake Mead Parkway in Henderson.

Clear the Shelters Day is a great national event that raises awareness about the need to find forever homes for shelter pets,” said Christi Dineff, Assistant Director of Operations for The Animal Foundation. “We are hopeful that all of our pets will find forever homes in one amazing day.”

The Animal Foundation takes in an average of 80 pets per day and is always in need of patrons to adopt shelter pets.

Clear the Shelters Day is made possible through a partnership between NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations and hundreds of animal shelters located across the country and Puerto Rico.  More than 150,000 shelter pets have found homes since Clear the Shelter Day began in 2015.
