The Animal Foundation Waives Reclaiming Fees for All Lost and Stray Animals from July 3 Through 10
From July 3 through July 10, The Animal Foundation will be waiving reclaiming fees on all lost and stray animals that end up at the shelter during the busy Fourth of July holiday period.
The waiver does not include confiscates, bites, or other situations as dictated by Animal Control. Last year during a similar period, The Animal Foundation took in as many as 480 lost and frightened animals, many of whom had escaped while seeking safety from loud firework displays.
“No Fourth of July celebration would be complete without enjoying the fireworks and related noise that celebrate the birth of our nation. As you put the final touches on your celebration, please take time to consider your pets,” said Jeff Stilson, Director of Operations at The Animal Foundation. “The increased anxiety and panic caused by fireworks or other loud noises may cause them to jump a fence or run away to find safety, so it’s important to leave your pet inside the comfort of your home. In the unfortunate event that your beloved pet becomes lost, we encourage you to contact us immediately and view our online pet database, which is updated hourly.”
Lost pets brought to the The Animal Foundation are legally required to be held for 72 hours. The waived fees during the holiday promotion include fees for the impound, boarding, rabies vaccination, spaying and neutering, and microchip, as set by the respective jurisdictions.
The Animal Foundation’s Lost and Found Department is located at 655 North Mojave in Las Vegas. It is open daily from 10am-7pm and is available by phone at 702-384-3333 x932. To claim your lost animal at our shelter, you must bring a photo of your pet, veterinary records, proof of rabies vaccine and current and valid breeders or fanciers license, if applicable.
