The Las Vegas Edition of the Int’l 48 Hour Film Project Is Back — Filmmakers Write, Shoot and Edit a 4-7 Minute Film in Just 48 Hours
The local edition of the International 48 Hour Film Project is back! Filmmakers will write, shoot and edit 4-7 minute films in just 48 hours. This event will shine a spotlight on the booming Las Vegas Film Industry.
WHO: People of all ages, skills and experience levels welcome!
WHAT: Filmmakers rush to create a film in just two days for the 18th edition of the Las Vegas 48 Hour Film Project.
WHERE: The Kickoff is Friday, June 8th, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Millers Ale House in Town Square. The Turn-in is June 10th from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at Las Vegas Mini Grandprix.
WHEN: The event weekend is June 8th-10th, 2018.
- All submitted films will have their “Red Carpet Premieres” at The Brenden Theaters in the Palms Hotel on June 26th and June 27th.
- The Awards Banquet will take place on July 10th, from 7-10 p.m. at the beautiful, new Rhythms Event Center on West Sahara Avenue, where the winners of the awards will get to experience “Red Carpet Celebrity Style” treatment as they accept their awards!

People of all ages, skills and experience levels are welcome. The filmmakers end their weekend with a finished film, which is almost impossible in the real world, and an immense sense of gratification. According to Actor/Talk Show Host/Producer Corey Taylor, of “Corey Taylor Talks,” and Director/Writer/Producer/Actor Joe Lujan of “Carcass Studios,” the producers of the 2018 Las Vegas 48 Hour Film Project, “The filmmakers find that seeing their films on the ‘Big Screen’ in front of a live audience is very thrilling and truly an experience that they will never forget.” All films are eligible for audience recognition, and those that are submitted on time, are judged for over 30 various awards by a panel of Celebrity Judges.

The film declared to be the overall “Best Film” of Las Vegas, will be sent to the International 48HFP competition, “Filmapalooza,” to be screened and judged with over 200 city winners from around the globe. From there, 12 films will be chosen to screen in the Short Film Corner at the Cannes International Film Festival.
